Mama's Day

Here it is, the eve of my very first mother's day as a mama. I love taking care of this sweet little boy and doing mommy things and giving him his fill of hugs and kisses.

(For those just tuning in, my husband and I are foster parents to a little boy who will most certainly go back to his own mother once she gets her life back on tracks.)

He's been sick this week. He's had sniffles before but this bout was a little bit more severe. Most of last week he only wanted to be held. We spent quite a bit of time in the rocking chair humming songs. The poor dear is feeling better today. Just in time for me to come down with it.

Happy Mother's Day to my own sweet mother who taught me love by loving. I've thought of you so often these last few days of taking care of this sick little chickadee...and how even now when I'm sick, I still long for your warm hands to hold my head. Your hands are magic and I always felt better when you did that. 37 years of thank you's for that and everything else you did (and do!) for me.

Happy Mother's Day to all my mama friends out there. Feel loved and appreciated and cherished today and everyday.

Oh you've got me all teared up, Sweets! In a good way, of course. You're a wonderful Mama to Baby and he is lucky to be your boy for as long as you are together. His little heart will have a special imprint of Mama Amy on it! Get well quick, Friend. Big Mama-ish squeezes to you both....
love, cheryl

Hope you had a wonderful Mothers day, and baby is feeling a bit better. Does that mean you shared mothers day with baby's mum? He is so lucky to have you for comfort, in sickness and in health!

what wonderful people you and your husband are to open your hearts and home as a foster parent.
It really takes a very special person to do that,

How wonderful you are to take in this boy and give him a home!Mother is a term for "primary caregiver" in my world, and you are giving him all the love and care you've got!
I love your Inspire magazine! Great, fun craft ideas. My niece and I are shrinky-dinking this weekend because of you!

Amy, God bless you, Rich and this sweet baby boy. Happy Mother's Day to you.... the first of a lifetime full of Mother's days. You touch my heart so much with the stories of your life with baby. I prayed for your family on Mother's day, as I do often. What a blessing you are to this child, and he to you.

I remember my first mommy's day as a foster mom to Joe. Eventually we were able to adopt him and now he's 17-- has his driver's license--went to the prom with his beautiful girlfriend......

But 16 years ago, he made me a mommy to a real living baby.
