a peek at her room

I got so much done today! Just look how sweet it is all looking...
Inspired by a picture in the Pottery Barn Kids Book I made this fun ribbon chandelier. I put it in front of the window (and under the vent) so that it will dance in the air. I imagine that she'll love twirling underneath it. It was so easy to make. I took a wire wreath form and tied all sorts of ribbons on (most from my scrap ribbon bin) I'll show you tomorrow how I hung it from the ceiling.

For the border, I cut half circles out of scrapbook paper and ran them through my Xyron sticker maker. The scallops were cut and up there in under two hours. I sorted them by color and then repeated them in order (blue, green, pink) all the way around the room.
I think I'll put party hats on all the bird finials around the bed. Won't that be fun? Of course, Miss Pink will probably pluck them off. Maybe I'll just place them on instead of gluing.

I found this quilt at HomeGoods today. I really love the stripes.

What do you think? Isn't it looking sweet?

What a perfect pink room! Love it! I was wondering where the beautiful bird finials are from? Did I miss that post? I'm sure many happy memories will be made in your house - you have made it so bright and cheerful, and so very full of love for these little ones!

Oh, what a darling room! I love the scrapbook paper scallops--what a fantastic idea!! I'm so excited for you--what fun you will have!

It is looking very sweet indeed but you should go ahead and glue the party hats onto the birds, Miss Pinky will be less apt to pluck them off and while you're at it you could just make a matching hat for her to wear too!

Beautiful!! She is going to LOVE it. I will admit being hopelessly decoratingly challenged I shamelessly attempt to copy some of your ideas. Hope you don't mind lol

The room is just adorable. Miss Pinkie will love it! I am so excited for you.

My dream is to someday have my own little room and I would SO want my own ribbon chandelier.

Best of luck with the 3 little ones. My advice is to put them on a dependable schedule at first. I think it will make them feel very safe always knowing what will happen next.

Enjoy!

Beautiful!!! Her room is definitely full of love. I really want that bed for myself! Does it come in queen size? I created an illo inspired by a friend's daughter who had an entirely pink room. You can see it here http://tinyurl.com/bzhlx9

I can't wait to see what you're up to with the boys' room.

It looks like a confection! What a lucky little girl (and I'm sure the boys' room will be equally charming, but in a not-pink kind of way). These children are so fortunate to be coming to a home where they will be so cherished! I know you are going to be great parents.

Hello,

What a "SPECIAL" room. Nothing radiates love and care, more than a space that is created with the consideration of the life that will live there. Sending you prayers!

I found my way here following all the linky love. (Hula 70. Maybe?) Anyway, I am so glad to be here and wanted to say, "Hello, friend." Your daughter's room is amazing, happy making, and fantastically wonderful. These pictures make me want to wake up my own seven year old and say, "Come see. Come see!" Thanks for all the inspiration.
