Didn't you just love it? Hubs and I 'honeymooned' there on our second anniversary and it was wonderful. We are big fans of 'Somewhere in Time', so we just had to stay at The Grand. There was a wedding going on at the time, and the wedding party was dressed in the period of SiT. Truly magical!
And the fudge, oh my, the fudge!
We spent several hours just laying on the side of the hill (where a lot of people picnic) watching everybody go by. I remember how peaceful it was and I'd do it again in a minute.
ohh you are soo lucky ! i grew up in michigan and in high school our drama club got to stay in the grand hotel ! it was soo amazing !! what a fun time, you must stay there some time if you get a chance ! xo, beth

Welcome back! Michigan is lovely. Being from Chicago (originally) my family would often go there for summer vacations. I was thinking of you today - scores some fabulous 1940's 50's shoes and thought "Amy would love these!" (even though they weren't pink!)
OH so lucky to go here!! And the pictures are wonderful... I'm a huge fan of Somewhere in Time (one of my all time favorite movies). Would love to go one day.

Go again the end of May, beginning of June when the lilacs bloom!
Beautiful, and the smell is amazing!
And thank you for helping out the suffering Michigan economy.
