they call me yuck mouth

I just spent a gruelling hour at the dentist. I let 2 years pass without a visit. Plus I really hate to floss. That's a formula for not only yuck mouth but a really painful experience in the chair.

Bless your heart, Amy, what a grueling morning for you. I know you're a truly busy woman but maybe you ought to just curl up in a chair and read a book for a couple of hours to regain your equilibrium and diminish the agony of this morning's venture.

From one yuck mouth to another, there's nothing like five years without going to the dentist and then having a year's worth of work to correct all the damage to get you on the "every six months" schedule! Somehow the flossing the night before and brushing twice before the appointment didn't seem to make up for missed time. Hope you're feeling better!

Yikes!
This hasn't been the best year for me for dental procedures. I hate floss too! I ran out of insurance months ago, so they won't be seeing me until next year for another check-up.

Oh, boo. I'm sorry for your hard time at the dentist. I, too, don't like flossing, but using Plackers* is a lot better. I started a flossing, er, Plackers-ing every day campaign day before yesterday. Hearing your story definitely will help motivate me.

*I use the green ones. They're available at Walgreens. I hope they help you!

I'm so sorry. I too have a yuck mouth & a debilitating fear of the dentist. I shake like a leaf at least a week before & then sob like a baby when I'm in the chair. I just can't deal. I know I have big procedures coming up & am scared to death. I hope your next visit goes better.

Cool! I like Scatman Crothers but never saw Yuck Mouth before.

Careful. They may put you on an every three month cleaning cycle. 80o

Ahh yes, I was in the same predicament a few weeks ago. The dentist always says to me "You don't floss do you?" And you would think, having a mom who has worked in a dentist office all of my life, I would take better care of my teeth! But now, my cavity is gone, and I no longer flinch in pain as I drink something cold or chew a piece of gum ;)
ps: Hope that novacane or whatever you recieved wears off quickly!

I missed a couple of check ups once the pain I endured just getting my teeth cleaned because of my lapse was enough to keep me regular w/appointments and I now floss regularly.

I am soooooo sorry! I spent nearly two hours in the chair this past Monday and I'm still recovering. Had to have ancient fillings replaced ...Argh....and Blech! Thank goodness it's all over though! :)

Me too... had my fourth filling replaced this morning and my mouth still hurts. I have to tell you though... once you get into flossing all the time you become addicted. I am a serial flosser. I also had impressions today because I am a tooth grinder and now I have severe jaw pain and must have a night guard. I'm convinced I'm going to fling that sucker across the room in my sleep and the dog will eat it, but dentist mans says I must have it or risk loosing teeth. Ahhhhhgggccchhh. I told that poor sweet guy that I hated him and if he hurt me, I'd hurt him. I'm a very nice girl. :)
