My friend Melanie showed me this giant cupcake cake last week. Can you believe your eyes? Wouldn't this be a delightful birthday cake? It would be so much fun to decorate, that's for sure. It's available at Sur La Table here.
Seeing this cupcake reminded me of a line of ornaments and decorations that I'd been considering adding to the holiday offerings. Won't these be fun? What do you think? Should I order them?

What is it about cupcakes that brings an instant smile to everyone's faces? I love the giant cupcake! I'm picturing it used as a wedding cake for when I get married in about 50 years.
cup cakes are somehow just a little bit selfish (just enough for me) and a winky bit naughty (i think it's a boob thing) - and of course there is getting to eat something sugary that is overly decorative.

What an adorable cake! I wonder if could do that similar to the Barbie cakes made in the huge measuring cups. You could do a layer cake with an upside down version of the Barbie dress. Hmmm - I smell a baking experiment.

Like Grace, I'm going to try this without the expensive pan. We all have those barbie-dress pans somewhere, don't we? My husband Ben's birthday is on the 24th and he would love a giant lemon cupcake.
