who's that girl?

I got a haircut today and when the stylist suggested we flat iron my hair I said "why not?"

I can't believe it's really me...everytime I look in the mirror, I can't resist swinging my hair around and vogue-ing it up. Seriously.

It'll only last until I wash it...and with the weather as damp as it is, maybe not that long. I'm going to try to keep it like this for as long as I can. In this picture, I look just like my sister Jessica. It's uncanny.

Hope you had a good weekend. And thanks for all the anniversary well-wishes and the blog-update tips. It's a work in progress (the blog and the marriage!)

Amy you are just the most darling thing, no matter what you do to your hair! I love it - it's a 'sexy mama' version of you, and I bet if you were in England, they'd call you a Yummy Mummy!

And I love the new blog design... you are the princess of cute! (Mary E is still the Queen of Cute. ;0) )

Va-voom! :D I love it! I am a curly girl too and on the rare occasion that I straighten it, I always joke that I look like my own evil twin! LOL I love swooshing my hair around like I'm on a shampoo commercial, something I can't ever otherwise. It's always fun to have a change once in a while!

Love the hair. It's always fun to try something different with your hair even if it will only last just for a day.

It's been awhile since I visited your site.....I like your hair, but just for a change, then go back to your curls. Did you forget that people pay big bucks for curls? I'm liking your new look on the site too. I'm soooo happy for you guys being able to co-parent with Alfredo! Good luck with all! Pam

I too have an abundance of natural curls. A while back I got a too short bob and it just didn't look good curly so I bit the bullet and bought a new straightening iron. I was really surprised at how much better they are now! And mine was not a pricey ceramic one, it was a wet/dry version from Target. Just a thought if you decide you want to do straight more often! :)

The blog looks fun and fanciful! Would you ever get a flat iron and do that look at home on your own? I bet it took some time, but the change is always fun, if only for a special occasion! You are too too cute!

And so is the new blog look!

How nice!
You have options that some of us do not have. My hair is straighter than a stick and needs all sorts of product to do anything at all!
:)
You look gooooood!
I am enjoying the embroidery project...lovin' the blog look....and happy for you in this development with Alfredo.
What a blessed boy to have you in his little life!!!

Blessings on you.

The flat iron has revolutionized my life! I have a Chi 2" iron that I love -- it's not so wide that I get the "crease" in my hair and it's small enough to get close to my scalp. Between the flat iron and the Aveda BE CURLY line, I'm happy with my hair -- finally, at the age of 43!

You look amazing, I think you should invest in a flat iron so you can mix it up a bit :)

What a totally different look! It can be so energizing to see yourself in a different way, can't it? Great thing to try in the Spring..... renewal and all that. I'm not sure I'd have the patience to fuss with my hair too often, but it's good to see the various faces of one's own beauty from time to time :)

The new blog design and new "do" look great! Although your natural curls are super cute too :D

hello beautiful! What a different look for you. I like 'em both, curls or straight. That length and bob really work for you no matter which. I haven't quite found that 'sweet' spot yet.

Seriously loving the new bloggy design too.

I have the same curly hair as you and when my hairdresser uses the flat iron...completely different person! It is kinda fun tho - I wouldn't want to do it every day, but nice to have an option like that. I would not have recognized you with your new flat doo.
happy 12th!

Mercy, what a change. I have super curly hair and when I've had it straightened I feel super vain-I can't stop looking at myself--because I can hardly believe its me. How different and pretty.
