stitching party

I invited some friends over yesterday for a little stitching fun.

Claudine
, Lorraine, Pam, Hope, Sue and Lia all came over for the afternoon and we talked and stitched and ate and laughed. It was a lot of fun. We're hoping to make it a regular crafting thing. I didn't take pictures but I'm hoping they will post their samplers on their blogs. Pam posted hers already.

Here's how mine is coming along...

I think I'll make a little wallhanging out of it.

My parents helped so much for yesterday's party. My father made his famous chicken salad and my mother patiently showed how to make perfect stitches (which nicely countered the imperfection of mine!)

The folks are here just for one more day so we'll try to make the most of it. We're having a great time and it's so much fun to have them around.

Hope you have a lovely day too.

Hi Amy!
Your sampler is AMAZING! My Little One took an embroidery class last week, and absolutely LOVED it. I'm going to have to show her your project to give her some new ideas!

An old fashioned sewing (or stitching) circle sounds like so much fun. I love how you've added buttons and jewelry to your sampler and your sheep is the fluffiest ever.

Amy, I am so happy to see the updates on your sampler...I forgot to ask you at Kim's party, what material you are using for the background? It looks a little like linen, I really like the close weave, do you know the thread count. You are so very creative & once again, it was such a pleasure to meet you and be a part of your creative class.
Best Wishes Always, Nancy

I love this idea! I sincerely hope that I remember to do it someday... My favorite on yours is the cherries, I think. That's a very good use of a french knot! :D

Darling! Kind of makes me embarrassed to show mine now! Mine are very "rustic" and "elementary"!

Oh my goodness Amy, I absolutely LOVE your sampler. It brought an instant smile to my face :) I have been thinking about starting a project like this for a while, and now that I have seen yours, I might finally take the leap.

Your sweet family continues to be in my prayers!
