a big let down

okay, so I owe you a big apology. I have no pictures of a grand camping set up...mostly because there was no grand camping set up. The trip to the campground that should've taken just 2 1/2 hours ended up taking 6. And 3 of those hours were spent with an inconsolable baby in the backseat. By the time we got to the campground, it was almost dark and we were not in a good mood, not one of us.

We also discovered upon arriving at the campground that we were to share a campsite. I just didn't feel like pulling out all the stops in a shared campsite.

I'm sorry if it's a let down. But boy oh boy am I glad to be home.

Home sweet home, ain't it the truth?

Aww, Amy!

You need this button. I have it in my craft room, ha! :)

My son is in cub scouts so we have camping twice a year. Not my favorite thing, but hey, at least you tried, right? :)

Hugs,
Jennifer

Oh bummer!!!! Sorry to hear that Amy. At least you are looking on the bright side - home always looks soooo much nicer after one of those trips!

Sometimes you just gotta know when to fold them. I always thought I would be the kind to strap on my baby and just go - turns out I wasn't really that way, lol. Hope your weekend at home was lovely!

I've said it before, I'll say it again:

So glad not to be camping.

Well, phooey! Good choice to come home though! Campgrounds can be crowded enough, but sharing a campsite with strangers? And, without warning?!? Nope! How can they do that????

Oh goodness...I think I need to clarify! We did indeed still camp...just not elaborately. :) It is so good to be back home and I finally packed away the last of the camping supplies...now if I could just tackle that mountain of laundry!

We've been sharing a campsite this summer just to save $$$. Plus, we get along great w/the peeps we camp with. You probably need a whole site to yourself in order to set up all of your stuff!
I'm sorry it didn't work out for you after all the work you went to. Sorry you had an awful (LONG)drive. Sometimes, it just feels good to go back HOME.
Home Sweet Home.

I'm so sorry to hear that things didn't go smoothly. It's always good to get back home from any trip, especially one that challenges our original notions of how we'd wanted to spend our time.

It's always interesting to me how camping can, depending on this or that (the cleanliness and proximity of restrooms; bears maintaining their boundaries; weather) veer wildly back and forth between being one of life's greatest experiences, and being one of life's worst experiences. :D

I hope you're enjoying your home sweet home.

I enjoyed your blog.
I think Emeril should have given you a necklace, he is from New Orleans isn't he?

Sorry the camping trip wasn't the best and that you had such a long journey with a tearful baby.
We're off with the little tent this weekend for a few days and the weather forecast is Ok at the moment. It's been a lot of grey skies in the UK lately this summer so some sunshine would be nice. At least we have no bears.
