a work in progress

I started this bird collage with an idea in mind but it didn't quite work out for that project. I'm going to finish it and either make it part of something else or maybe just make it a hoop-framed collage.

We're taking it easy this morning...hanging out in our pajamas and lounging about.

Here's a cute story: Last night Alfredo and I were playing "school bus". He was the driver and I was the door. He'd ask "who's next?" and I would name a little friend. When I said "Seth" he said "No, not Seth!" I was a bit surprised so I said "Why not Seth?" and he said "Seth is a 'growed-up'...this bus is for childrens!" Isn't that adorable? In his world, an 8-year-old is a 'growed-up'!

Yes the bird is precious! I love the story of the him thinking an 8 year old is a grown up. My eight year old definitely thinks he is!!

I love your blog and digging through it for inspirations! I am a newbie when it comes to embroidery. Everything you do is fun!!! ~Shelley

Hi Amy, sweet bird creation . . Alfredo is too funny, kids say the funniest things sometimes . . when my kids were growing up, those were the BEST times ever, enjoy every moment of Alfredo. Sandy:O)

That is just adorable! Children have such simplistic ways of thinking. My daughter's church gave her the sweetest baby shower yesterday. She had to bring her little boy with her, so she bought him a "I'm the big brother" tee shirt to wear. Our new addition is going to be a little girl, so everything was girly girl, all pinks, and non interesting to him, I felt really bad for him, but he was good in-spite of it all. He will be five in July. He asked a few times if there were any presents for him. The women who were handing the gifts to my daughter were encouraging him , and distracting him, they were really remarkable with him. Finally, he had enough and stood next to his mom's chair and said, "I don't want to wear the big brother shirt anymore" He was so cute! Vanessa
