under the weather...

On our way home from NYC, I felt a burning sensation in the back of my throat. I slept all the way home, with my head in my mom's lap while she combed my hair with her fingers (which, by the way, made me feel deliciously like I was 8 years old again). The next day I woke up a bit sick...then through the day it got worse. Yesterday, I spent the whole day lounging around, trying to get enough energy to do the things that had to be done. I managed to get all the orders out that came in yesterday, in record time.

I woke up this morning feeling like the bones in my face were broken. All my muscles are achy and I just feel terrible.

But, here's the thing...I still have shopping to do! Lots of shopping! I'm wondering if I'll feel well enough after a shower to go out just to one store to get some of it done. Maybe?

Well, anyway, that's my story for today. Poor pitiful me, smelling of vick's vapor rub and surrounded by a sea of used kleenexes.

The best gift you can give anyone is a calm healthy you. You can shop when you are well. Yep, I'm a Mom/Nana. ;-)

Oh, poor thing. It sounds like strep! If you must go out, I'd start with a throat culture!
You still have a few days, left, maybe you should just tuck up in bed for the day.

I was there last week...poor you. My recipe for the day- lots of candy cane tea, a cozy blanket, several episodes of Leave it to Beaver and Andy Griffith. Follow with Toffee tea and Martha etc.
Take care-

I'm thinking the best medicine was your Mom running her fingers through your hair...that probably saved you from anything too terrible! xoxo the fan

Amy, sorry to hear you are sick. Praying you feel better. Try this, I have been wanting to try it since I heard about it but no one has been sick in my family yet. If you have a cough and can't get to sleep at night before you go to bed rub some Vicks vapor rub on the bottom of your feet then put socks on. Scientist have tested it and it has worked 100% of the time unlike cough syrup which I am convinced does not work at all. They say that the bottom of the foot is the most absorbent part of your body. They said if you rub garlic on the bottom of your foot you will taste it in your mouth. I have not tired that either. LOL! If you try it let me know how it works. Hugs!!!

Amy-
Get thee to the doctor at once!(Make sure you don't need an antibiotic.) I'm so sorry you're sick- what a vexing time of year for it! But just maybe you'll be better by Christmas Eve? (Hope!!)
And BTW- I received my box of littles and I am saving them for Christmas Day. Don't you admire my restraint?! ;-)
Sending warm fuzzy get well wishes your way!
