Is your mouth watering yet?
I bought this cherry pitter from Target and Alfredo loves it. It was a mess trying to get him to spit out the pit...this is much better. And a lot of fun to operate!
And how could I not get the peas after Alfredo's declaration? Aren't they lovely?
We also bought some sugar snap peas. I think Alfredo was responding to the "sugar" part of the name...he was a little surprised by the taste. Rich didn't seem to be a fan either...at least not raw. I'll need to find a recipe for cooking them. Do you have one?
Hope you have a SWEET day!

Sugar snaps -- you might try very lightly steaming and then chilling them, serve with a dip. You can use either a conventional sour cream type dip, or it's fun to make a Chinese or Japanese type dip with soy sauce, a little rice vinegar and just a bit of sugar, each person with their own little bowl, and use chopsticks to dip the sugar snap in.
I also like to use sugar snaps in stir fry recipes.
Even the most mundane tasks can become an adventure when doing them with a sparkly person!
I love the Farmer's Market! Friday is my day to go--hope it's not raining!
We love sugar snaps lightly steamed or blanched. Then saute a little garlic in olive oil. Toss in the peas and a handful (or two) of cherry or grape tomatoes. Sprinkle with a little kosher or sea salt. Delicious-- and oh so pretty!
Enjoy.
