amy, the spy

First of all, it's even more cloudy and grey now than it was this morning. It looks like we'll have to wait until tomorrow to take pictures of all this lovely stuff.

I met my friend Lorraine for lunch today. First we popped into Anthropologie.

Now you probably know that you're not allowed to take photos of the displays at Anthropologie. But when I was there last week with Hope I asked and they said that I could. Today I brought along my camera and asked again immediately. The nice girl who greeted us agreed. "Sure...why not..."

So just look at this fabulous installation of a doll house...

I think they've seen my basement...
And just look at little miss with her cake in the kitchen...
And I wanted to take more pictures...more, more, more...
But just then I was reprimanded. "No photos of the store!" said two tough and severe managers.
While Lorraine was in the dressing room, with the camera in my lap, I did stealthily take these pictures of the lovely things hanging from the ceiling...
Cardboard tubes, currogated cardboard finials, and tiny dowels bent to fit in holes in the cardboard tubes. Stuff like this ought to be shared and celebrated and blogged. It just has to.
I think I may have a future as a spy. Mrs. Polifax, look out!

That is one of my all time favorite stores! We had one very close in Orlando, but I'm not sure where one is here. Fun day!

I LOVE that store, but sorta hate the no photos thing. It makes me a little panicky in there, like how am I going to ever remember all these great ideas if I cant take a picture?!?!
They are certainly marketing masters....

Oh Amy, you are just a doll for snagging those photos for us! They always catch me. Guess what? My mother in law (who is the most law abiding, nicest woman ever) gave me a tiny digital keychain camera that I could take into stores for spying! Isn't that neat?

I think they are really hurting themselves by not letting bloggers go wild with pics in their stores. I mean, its free advertising for them! I've definitely seen clandestine shots of Anthropologie stores on blogs before- you are joining an elite league of sneaky spies! Myself included! Hooray for the camera phone.

Cheers!

We have a brand new Anthropologie store here in Indianapolis. As soon as I'm over my foot surgery, you are making me die to get in there!

Oh I haven't been to Anthropologie in too too long! I miss it! Silly that they won't let you take pictures - I agree - their loveliness and creativity should be shared far and wide! Thanks for our little peak : )

That post really made me bust out laughing! Ok, I have TWO anthropologie stores nearby me in Dallas and I'm going first chance I get, to sneak pics! If I get any, I'll send them to you :)))

Oh! I love Anthropologie and now I think I might soon have to go get me a fix!

I just stopped by to shop at your store and found it quite empty! Are you restocking soon?
