glitter houses

These beautiful glitter houses are the creations of the 7th grade girls I shared the project with. We've worked hard for more than two weeks building them from cereal boxes and aren't they fabulous? The girls had such a great time and are so proud...almost as great a time and as proud as I am. What a blessing it was to spend time with them.

I also want to give you an update on my father. He didn't have surgery (they didn't want to risk it at his age) and he's been moved to a nursing home just today. I just got word that he's running a fever and they fear he has pneumonia. I'm thinking I need to make the trip home tomorrow. It's so hard being just far enough away to make the trip a consideration. Will you continue to pray for his speedy recovery?

BRAVO on the houses. I'll bet those girls felt so capable and accomplished. Good on you for giving them that. Prayers to you and your dad. If you think you need to make the trip then you should probably make the trip. Yes it's a stress being so far away. I live 500 miles from my family...had to jump in the car with no notice last summer and ended up getting to be with my dad when he passed. It was probably the most meaningful and intimate experience of my life.
Enjoy the holiday for what it is this year. Thank you for all the sparkle you've added to ours.

I think I would love to live in this cute little village you and the girls have created!
You and your Dad are in my thoughts. I think it's a good idea to be with him, if you can. But don't feel guilty if you decide to stay at home! Lots of love and light to you both!

Saying prayers for your Dad's quick recovery-- it's extra hard when it's this time of year to have someone not doing well.

My thoughts are with you and your dad. I know what it's like to deal with a parent's ill-health (and at this time of year). Very best wishes.

The houses are beautiful. Ever since I saw your article on the glitter houses, I have been making my own. I've been working on them for weeks. I made my husband eat 10 boxes of cereal. I'm loving them. Best wishes for your Dad, and I'll pray for him.

I lost my dad on the 18th. You should go be with him, you will be glad you did. Fortunately I live next door to my parents so it wasn't a consideration for me. I'll be praying for you and for him.

I found you today while looking for glitter houses...can you share where you got your template?
I hope your father is on the mend...my father broke his hip Dec of '09. Being elderly caused some issues but he is fine now (although he is a tad slower!)
