glitter houses
These beautiful glitter houses are the creations of the 7th grade girls I shared the project with. We've worked hard for more than two weeks building them from cereal boxes and aren't they fabulous? The girls had such a great time and are so proud...almost as great a time and as proud as I am. What a blessing it was to spend time with them.
I also want to give you an update on my father. He didn't have surgery (they didn't want to risk it at his age) and he's been moved to a nursing home just today. I just got word that he's running a fever and they fear he has pneumonia. I'm thinking I need to make the trip home tomorrow. It's so hard being just far enough away to make the trip a consideration. Will you continue to pray for his speedy recovery?

I'm keeping your father in my thoughts and prayers.

I just prayed for your Dad, Amy.
The houses are adorable!
Amy,
Continuing prayers for your dad and for your family.
Your glitter houses are precious! Those girls were so lucky to have you spend time with them and teach them.
Hugs,
Lisa
Please go to your father. You will never regret any time you spend with him. I will be in prayer for his speedy recovery and your safe return home. May the Lord bless and comfort you both during this difficult time.
Thinking of you and your dad and praying for him. Go see him!!
Thinking of you right now, and I am sure I will be thinking of you until we hear that your dad is all better. Please keep us informed!
Adorable houses of course..your a wonderful teacher!
Amy, You should go to your dad. Be safe!
BRAVO on the houses. I'll bet those girls felt so capable and accomplished. Good on you for giving them that. Prayers to you and your dad. If you think you need to make the trip then you should probably make the trip. Yes it's a stress being so far away. I live 500 miles from my family...had to jump in the car with no notice last summer and ended up getting to be with my dad when he passed. It was probably the most meaningful and intimate experience of my life.
Enjoy the holiday for what it is this year. Thank you for all the sparkle you've added to ours.
I think I would love to live in this cute little village you and the girls have created!
You and your Dad are in my thoughts. I think it's a good idea to be with him, if you can. But don't feel guilty if you decide to stay at home! Lots of love and light to you both!
You and the girls made such pretty houses!
I'm so sorry about your father. I will hold him in my prayers.
I'm soooo very sorry to hear of your father's mishap. Sending prayers his way for strength for the recovery. God bless you and your family.
Gorgeous! Those girls did a fabulous job! I have so many of the vintage houses and oh my, these are pretty too!

Hi Amy,
Lovely houses! I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and my prayers and well wishes are with you always. Thanks for all of the inspiration you give me.
Godspeed,
Carey
Those houses are so wonderfully creative. I particularly like the English cottage-style roofs. You all did a wonderful job.
Sending healing thoughts your dad's way. I envision him enveloped in God's love & getting better quickly.
Saying prayers for your Dad's quick recovery-- it's extra hard when it's this time of year to have someone not doing well.
The houses are adorable. xoKelly
My thoughts are with you and your dad. I know what it's like to deal with a parent's ill-health (and at this time of year). Very best wishes.
Hi Amy,
The Merriest of Christmases to you and your loved ones. Your dad has been added to my rosary and I pray he will feel better soon. Thank you for all your inspiration this year. It has meant a lot to me.

The houses are beautiful. Ever since I saw your article on the glitter houses, I have been making my own. I've been working on them for weeks. I made my husband eat 10 boxes of cereal. I'm loving them. Best wishes for your Dad, and I'll pray for him.
I love the houses -- the photography is amazing.
I'll send up prayers for your father.
Amy,
Of course, I will pray for your father...and for you, too, dear heart. I was so sorry to read this and hope all shall be well.
I love your work with the young girls and think they are fortunate to have your influence.
Love,
Suz
Best wishes to you and your family Amy, take good care of your father... and enjoy the season together :) All will be well.
xoxo
PS. The houses are just lovely, I bet the girls are thrilled.
I lost my dad on the 18th. You should go be with him, you will be glad you did. Fortunately I live next door to my parents so it wasn't a consideration for me. I'll be praying for you and for him.
I found you today while looking for glitter houses...can you share where you got your template?
I hope your father is on the mend...my father broke his hip Dec of '09. Being elderly caused some issues but he is fine now (although he is a tad slower!)
