I made it to Target yesterday after church and after going out for breakfast. It was so much fun discovering all the Liberty of London stuff all over the store. Still, I wish there was more.
I picked up this lampshade but didn't think I needed the lamp. Turns out I don't have any of the style of lamp (not a harp) to hold this kind of lampshade large enough. So I might go back for the lamp base if it's still there. I also bought a candle (you have got to sniff them...unbelievably wonderful!), a storage bin, a ruffly blouse, and a tray. I talked myself out of getting a jacket.
It's still so dark and rainy around here and shopping for such bright and cheery things was just what I needed to feel like Spring!
Later, in the afternoon while Alfredo napped, I curled up on the sofa, watched Summertime starring Katharine Hepburn and did a little embroidery. It was a delicious little mid-day escape.
The sun is due to come out tomorrow and I'm hoping we'll make it downtown to catch the circus parade on Capitol Hill. Won't that be fun?

love the bright spring graphics! I have staying away from Target for fear of falling in love with all the spring stuff and over spending, after seeing this post I may just have to indulge a little!
love the lamp!
It's so funny, me and my kids (ages 9, 7, 6 and 1) were also watching Summertime yesterday afternoon! My 2 boys, the 9 & 7 yos, said I should wear dresses like she had! It's such a beautiful movie.
Circus parade -- how fun is that?!
I still haven't even been to Target this week, but I more than made up for it by shopping online at midnight (no joke), and besides some dresses, a BICYCLE is on it's way to me hopefully soon. Wahoo!
We were at Target yesterday too. Picked up 2 tops and a sweater for my daughter, and a frame for myself. I really wanted to see the Liberty flower pots that shown in Country Living, but they didn't have them. And I can't find them online either.. bummer!
i've been to 3 targets (2 of them 2 times each) in the last two days. i bought an umbrella, galoshes, a new wallet, a scarf, tons of little clothes (everything looks good on my lucy, not necessarily her mother ;)), a watering can and gloves (mother's day for my mother), storage boxes and THAT LAMPSHADE and base.
today we were looking for housewares only-- mostly the two tiered tray. then we saw the lamp shades and lucy little face lit up like christmas. it seemed just the bold thing for our playroom-- plus it matches the storage boxes we bought. i set it up before lu's nap and we both liked it very much. then DH got home and actually liked it too :) you should go get the lamp base-- you won't be sorry!
oh....i bought the two tiered tray too, but it CRACKED APART when i was setting it down in my trunk. i was bitterly disappointed because it was the only one they had :( apparently the store across town had TWO, but when we went to get it, it wasn't out yet. boo! :( lots of the things we bought were only out at one of the three stores we went to. the toddler clothes were particularly hard to find and i never found the infant dresses :(
I still can't believe that Target are stocking Liberty of London...I wonder if Aussie Target stores will be too? For my credit cards sake...I hope not!!!LOL.

I'm desperately jealous that Target is carrying Liberty of London... oh, I need a little trip south of the border!
I'm sorry not to have access to a brick-and-mortar Target right now...so many items are available only in the stores! When Liberty became available, I went online immediately and was able to purchase four items, but two are currently unavailable!
Target #1 was a letdown. Junior-sized clothes, the candles and stationery, sexy nighties, nothing for me.I wanted the canisters and the tired plates. None to be seen.
I will try another Super Target but I guess we are not getting the rea goods in Minnesota. :-(
katsui-- online you can check your local stores stock availability-- there is a little clicky tab near the ordering for "check local stores" or something like that. you might also want to call though-- some of the items might show as available but might not be out on the shelves yet. this happened yesterday when i went to go pick up a tiered tray at a second location. (aside: if you are getting a tiered tray -- check the screw on the bottom plate-- if it's too tight this piece will SNAP OFF.apparently this is a common problem and it is nearly impossible to fix after it breaks like this. i had to return mine :(...but people have been successful at fixing it)
also-- isn't target based in minnesota? i can't believe you wouldn't get the BEST. even our "lower tiered" target and my parents target have some of the stuff...
Love your lampshade. I once bought a lampshade on clearance online that didn't have the proper top. It was such a good buy at Pottery Barn and just what I wanted and for two lamps. I bought the right top online at some lamp shop. I snipped out the wrong top with wire cutters, and the new one fit in without glue and has stayed in place for a year! The cost of the new top piece was minimal.
I had to run right out to Target today and bought one of the cute sundresses for my daughter and a scarf for me. I could buy everything there!
I think Target underestimated the demand for the Liberty of London stuff. I've been to two of our stores and each has just a few of the offerings. But I did manage to find a coat, and two dresses are coming from online. Apparently, no one is buying the petite sizes so they are in stock. I would love a purse but I was out of luck. And I think I will kick myself later for not buying the yellow wallet. In hand but I put it back. Happy shopping ladies!
