invitation and a new camera

Last week Alfredo and I set up a little scene with a birthday dinosaur and Club Little House miniatures for a little photo shoot for his birthday invitation. Isn't it cute? As soon as he wakes up from his nap, we're off to the post office to put stamps on these babies and send them on their way.

And guess what...I got a new camera for Christmas!

I've had the same old one for years and years and really needed an update. I don't know a whole lot about photography so I wanted to stick with a point and shoot. Whenever I looked for a new one, I would go away so confused and frustrated. Finally, I just asked Rich to research and pick one for me.

I'm just fiddling around with it, learning all about it and seeing how it compares to my ancient one. I snapped a few dozen just now of this sneak peek at something I'm working on for the magazine. Something about them just doesn't "feel" like my photos...you know what I mean? And I don't like to read manuals...I'm a button pusher. Only something tells me this old dog is going to have to break down and read at least a few pages.

Read the manual ... keep us tech writers in business! :-)

The invitation is adorable--and it has a certain charm that my "Hey, come to Anne's birthday party this weekend" e-mails, sent two days before the party, did not. :-\

I hope Alfredo has a wonderful birthday party!

BTW, I heard the line, "You come home straight and you come home curly" today and thought of you. :-)

Hee - Don't know much about photography you say? I think you know more than you give yourself credit for if you look at your most recent photos and say they don't "feel" like your photos.

Hope Alfredo's birthday is awesome!!

Alfredo's invite is adorable! It was so fun to recognize "littles" from CLH. I love Lynn's table with the polka dot tablecloth~ one of my favorites!

I bet Alfredo is getting very excited about his celebration! I can't believe your sweet boy is going to be four. Wow, time flies!

Hugs,
Jill

I love that invitation! I can't wait to see what else you will do for the party. It seems like he had his last one yesterday!

I am so glad your dad is better, Amy! That makes me very happy!

Amy,
are you sure it's been a year since his last birthday? i can clearly remember the goodie bags and all like, it was yesterday and my memory is horrible! you make such a wonderful life for Alfredo. he seems very happy. i found this website in my "favorites" and thought of Alfredo and his creativity and fascination with animals. i just love the whimsy! happy b-day little boy!

I remember your old camera, the one with the Carl Zeiss lens. It took such good pictures! I'm sure you needed the upgrade but when I went looking for a new point-and-shoot last year, I made a point to get one with a Zeiss lens, on your recommendation.

Have fun and Happy New Year! xo
