hello world...

It was a rather low-key birthday celebration. We shared a burger from Five Guys and then caught a movie. We saw "The Soloist". (really touching and motivating)

Rich is off playing Ultimate this morning. I'm meeting up with a bunch of family and Rich for a birthday lunch in Old Town. I haven't ventured much out of bed...instead I've been tapping at the computer, cranking out a new look for the blog. (do you like?) I've got a few things in the works for inspire co. and this is just the first bit of it. More on that later.

I'm getting so excited about going to get Alfredo. We're absolutely giddy about it. I keep trying to imagine him here again and I just can't believe it. I can't even imagine it. What a gift even one more day will be with him.

Tomorrow is Rich's and my 12th anniversary. An even dozen. Still going strong. Still very much in love. More so (almost) every day.

Hi Amy! I just love the new look on your blog - the colors are so soft, dreamy and sweet. Its YOU.. I just wanted to say that I've come to admire your blog - you are a true Blog Pioneer Gal...a mentor for many of us..I've watch on the side lines as you & Rich went through your process to become parents..(and by the way you are awesome ones)..I too am thinking of fostering and/or adopting, but see I would be on my own and I don't know if I could go through the tough times like you guys did by myself - I know that God would be by my side but you have to admit it hard to take on...its truly a labor of love & tough times...actually I am off to volunteer for gala/event for Downey Side an agency that places children from the ages of 7 to 17 in homes for adoption...they are a great group of people working towards a good cause..well I better stop rambling & go on my way..here's to your creativity, your love to others, and to a Happy Anniversary & a belated happy birthday to Rich..Grace Peace & Joy 2 "U" Marlene :O)

LOve the new logo. In Firefox I can't see the pale green rat at all. Not saying you should change it, just saying you might want to check it in that browser further, make sure it's how you mean it.

Happy happy for all good things...

correction: typing before breakfast NOT good idea. There's no rat green or otherwise but the pale green color isn't showing up AT all. [reading before posting].

I'm thinking I liked it better before, since you asked, but whatever makes YOU happy is fine with me.

I have been away from Blogland due to work, family and school obligations. So, I am now catching up reading your past posts.
Although you probably don't need another 2 cents, I thought perhaps my 2 cents might offer some encouragement.
I understand the questions that were raised regarding Alfredo's stable environment but children are wonderfully adaptive. I have always felt that the more people that love and cherish a child the better. I happily share my own kids with others. They have only benefitted from this love as I am sure Alfredo will as well.
In regards to the language situation I can only say that I have lived and visited several different foreign countries and I have found that love and kindness comes across even when there is a verbal barrier.
You and Rich are a blessing to that little boy. That is all you need to focus on.

Oooh Happy Anniversary!! How wonderful! Love the photo of you and Little A on the right side of your blog space. I think you should make your banner larger or more pronounced...that's just me though. Love that cupcake and sentiment at the end of the post, too. You rock!
