an update

My parents are visiting us for a while and are having a wonderful time getting to know Baby. They arrived with bags and bags of toys Maggie has outgrown and Baby is having a ball playing with each and every one of them. I've really never seen a child love toys as much as he does.

The visitation with his mom went well last week. I think what changed mainly was my feeling about it.

I'm going to try to check in again later this week. I'm trying to get into the swing of things again and find my new normal and I think I'm close. But then when I sit down to blog I can't think of anything to share.

Oh Amy, You have such a way of expressing yourself that could make anything fun!
I thought of you yesterday, when we arrived at Mass and my baby had a HUGE diaper emergency! I was proud of myself for having everything I needed to take care of it, and got her all cleaned up. But then, at Communion, I caught a quick glimpse of poo on my hand! I was mortified! That is when Communion on the tongue is good.

Amy,

I'm blog deficiant lately too. It is like my creative brain can only focus on one thing at a time.

You are doing such a fabulous job with baby. He must be absolutely thriving in your loving home.

Take care!

Your life has changed SO MUCH in the past few weeks. Can you even remember what it was like before Baby? No wonder blogging has changed too :)

Amy, it sounds like you are getting used to Baby. And God bless you for praying for his Mommy. You are so right, what's best for baby is your good relationship with his Mom. God put you in HER life, too, to have an impact!

I just stumbled across your blog recently and have no idea how you came to have Baby. Imagine if the Mommy was your daughter - and the "Baby" were your two adorable grandkids. Well that is where I am. Loving all of them, more than praying for the angry, helpless mother that also happens to be my daughter. Good for you and for any of us that take on the kids. It is what there is to do. And since this is my one life I will love it and them and be inspired everyday. We are in the process of (court-ordered) re-integration and it is really hard for the kids and when I think of not having them here I can get very sad. So to the art table to paint, collage, write and create. A wholeness is returned and I can go back to the kids with love and without sadness. I wish you all the goodness of momminess and all the pooh too. I cannot say good work often enough and don't forget to create. Lori

When I thought this morning about dropping a Blogisphere Happy Valentine's Day greeting, I thought that you and your husband have the greatest hearts and are giving the greatest gift. What lucky children will be able to spend time and flourish in your care. Just wow. So, happy hearts to you today.

Don't worry, enjoy time with baby.
So much has happened to you in a short time, I guess one will never return to old schedules.
