It's a great idea for a tab...I love that drum also! It's a great idea for a table. Maybe you could ask at the glass shop if they could cut or drill holes where each of the metal bits are, and then it can fit OVER the bits and they can be screwed on on top of the glass. The glass piece could also be cut a little larger (with a round edge for safety) so it overlaps a bit. You might want to ask a glass shop about how to set the glass top on it--it seems I recall some kind of clear plastic thingies they use to protect the glass as well as the base but keeps it all safe.<BR/><BR/>I love the costume idea that your father has been undertaking and have to agree that it would be ever so cute to add your suggested details--especially the large key on the back.
